XP Start Menu or Classic Windows?

Right Click the Start Button and choose Properties. Choose Classic Start Menu for old time Windows 95/98/ME menu style. To customize either further, choose Customize.

On the Classic Start Menu, you have the following options:

Windows XP Classic Start Menu

Clicking Advanced will allow you to move, add, and delete Start Menu items through Explorer.

XP Default Start Menu

Choosing the XP Start Menu then Customize, will bring up items such as icon size, the number of programs to put on the start menu and your default Internet Browser, and E-Mail client. Choosing the Advanced Tab bring up a whole bunch of neat options:

Windows XP Default Start Menu

Regardless of which you prefer, it is nice to have certain abilities like turning off the notification of newly installed programs. (like we forgot we installed it! ;) )
