Surfpack Startpage :: Design Your Own

Tired of the same old web start page? I've come across an excellent alternative to portal start pages such as My Yahoo!, My Way, and similar sites. The program is called Surfpack Startpage, and here's what it does.

Through your web browser, you can custom design your start page which sits locally on your hard drive, adding content such as RSS feeds, horoscopes, local weather, favorite daily comics, stock quotes, and much more.

It's extremely easy to setup and configure. It may not be the most esthetically pleasing, but it certainly loads up fast! Although the Blue theme is much more appealing, it can cause problems*. The graphics are limited to the comics and a few other choices, such as featured wallpapers.

A temporary fix is to direct your browser to http://localhost:8171/edit?desk

Currently Surfpack is not compatible with

Even with it's small flaws, I suggest giving Surfpack Startpage a try.
